SIMS SUMMER PROGRAM 2027

Your child will speak Spanish before summer ends

Using the ABC Spanish in Motion method, where children learn a new language the way it actually sticks: through music, movement, and real cultural immersion.

🗓️ June 28 – August 20, 2027

✨ Ages 15 months to 7 years

📍Newton & West Roxbury, MA

OUR METHOD

ABC Spanish in Motion, language that lives in the body

Most summer programs teach Spanish like a class. We don't. ABC Spanish in Motion is a method built on the science of how young children actually acquire language, through music, repetition, physical movement, and cultural context. Children aren't studying Spanish, they're living it, all day long.

🎵

Original music in Spanish

8 seasonal albums composed for our curriculum: songs that introduce vocabulary, rhythm, and pronunciation naturally.

✨

Movement as memory

Every word is tied to a gesture, instrument, prop, or game, activating muscle memory so language sticks.

🌎

Weekly cultural themes

Each week explores a different Latin American country, geography, or tradition, giving language real context and meaning.

💚

Full-day Spanish environment

From morning circle to goodbye songs, Spanish is the air they breathe, not a subject they attend.

✓ End: August 20, 2027

WHY SIMS SUMMER

More than summer care, a bilingual launchpad

8 weeks that build language confidence, cultural curiosity, and a lifelong love of Spanish.

01

Songs written for this program

Original ABC Spanish in Motion music from 8 seasonal albums, matched to each week's theme and vocabulary.

02

Real Latin American culture

Every week dives into a theme rooted in Latin American geography, nature, and cultural life, not textbook Spanish.

03

Special guest experts

Some weeks welcome outside guests who bring their expertise to celebrate what the children explored all week.

04

Bodies moving, brains learning

Park walks, yoga, Zumba, kinetic games, the movement is woven into every day, not a break from learning.

FAMILIES SAY

Real results, real families

My daughter arrived with zero Spanish. By week two she was singing the songs at dinner and asking for things in Spanish at home. I didn't expect that.

Sofia’s Mom

Newton

The extended hours made our summer actually work. We pick them up at 5 PM and they're happy, not drained. That says everything about how they spend their day.

Lucas & Mateo’s Dad

West Roxbury

What I love most is that they're not sitting in a classroom learning Spanish, they're moving, singing, playing. The language just happens. It's remarkable.

QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know

Does my child need to speak Spanish to join?

Not at all. Many children arrive with no Spanish background, and the music, movement, and total immersion environment does the teaching naturally.

Can we sign up for just a few weeks?

Yes, we offer 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8-week options. You choose the weeks that work best. The minimum is 4 weeks.

What does extended care include?

3–5 PM includes reading, writing, arts and crafts, dramatic play, and games, a relaxed extension of the day for working families.

What's the difference between Nido and Children's House?

Nido serves 15 months–3 years with toddler-focused activities. Children's House (4–7) has longer story time and more structured theme exploration. Both use the full curriculum.

What should my child bring each day?

A full list is sent after enrollment. Generally: a packed lunch and snack, comfortable clothes for movement, and shoes suitable for the park.

How do I register and what happens next?

Click “Reserve your spot” or message us on WhatsApp. We'll confirm availability, answer questions, and send the enrollment form.

A PERSONAL NOTE

From Jouveth Shortell, Founder of SIMS

“I built this school in my own living room, with my two daughters as my first students. I spent years traveling to schools across Boston, watching children, studying what made language stick. Everything I learned became Spanish Immersion Montessori School. I built it because I believed, and I still believe, with everything I have, that the early years are the most important ones. I want you to see that magic tomorrow.”
